Salvaged Western Red Cedar (Thuja plicata) from a mill-yard on Vancouver Island, with a variety of hand and power carved textures and layers. First layered carving is filled with clear epoxy resin and followed with a second layer of textured carving for added depth into the heartwood of "Mother Tree".
When carving it is all done free-hand, guided by the wood, by following the grain of the slab, and incorporating it's natural features like the branch knots and defects.
Carving is 48" long, 14" wide and 1 1/2" thick. Shipping is available.
